As a result of losses incurred by underwriters arising from the Madoff ponzi scheme, there is currently no market for fraud coverage for hedge funds. Prior to Madoff, the London market provided fraud coverage for hedge funds and hedge fund investors. If the market for this coverage comes back, it will be available to U.S. hedge funds and hedge fund investors through Hedge Fund Insurance.
